iPads are included in all guest rooms, literally putting the app at your fingertips. Though in many ways, this is dangerous. When it gets that easy to just--tap! tap! tap!--order a $150 bottle of bubbly, we think there should be some sort of child proofing device. Or, more importantly, a drunk proofing device to stop sauced guests making an impulse order they'll regret the next morning.
Other services on the SLS app include "Shake a Drink," in which you literally shake the iPad to reveal a mixologist-recommended cocktail recipe, and then use the bottles in the minibar to actually make it. Of course, you can also do normal hotel app stuff like make a dinner reservation, create a "Perfect Day in South Beach" itinerary, and check the weather (hopefully sunny).
Rates start at $450/night.
