Leafing through the Oberoi spa brochure, we can see ourselves holing up here for a few days of seclusion. We’ll try the Ayurvedic “Shiroabhyanga” massage, which focuses on loosening tight muscles in the shoulders, neck, head, and face – just the treatment we need after too many hours hunched over our laptops. After a Himalayan cedar bath (prepared with fresh cedar needles), we’ll be ready to soak up a bit of mountain air next to that beautiful Jacuzzi-with-a-view.
We found a Premier Mountain View room at Wildflower Hall for a weekend mid-December at INR14,000 ($256), as part of the Himalayan Vacation Package. That includes accommodation for two people, breakfast, and 15% off treatments at the Spa. A minimum stay of two nights is required, but a complimentary additional room for two children age 10-17 is thrown in.
You'd think it might be unbearably cold in December, but average temperatures during the day are a crisp 54F, so if you do get a bit of a chill, don't forget that hot tub!
