Naturally with this kind of floor space, there’s room for everything you can imagine and more. A Steinway grand piano, a billiard room, a salon, and a dedicated fitness center, because penthouse residents wouldn’t want to do their morning run with the rest of the hotel guests. A full team is on call 24/7, including a personal assistant, chef, and butler. Arrival and departure at the hotel is possible via the helipad.
The guest list here is not surprisingly also heavy on famous names, leaning more to political heavyweights that are in town to visit the United Nations nearby (Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, but also Sir Richard Branson, Michael Jackson). Given the caliber of penthouse residents, security is taken very seriously, with private elevator access, bullet-proof windows, and a safe / panic room. We suppose those who require the bullet-proof windows will have to forego drinks on the private balcony overlooking the city. What a shame!
The Royal Penthouse comes screeching in at a gut-wrenching $81,000 a night. A Superior room with king bed is available at the Président Wilson, which is part of Starwood’s Luxury Collection, for a slightly more palatable 380CHF (just over $400) early December. See? We try to make some dreams come true.
