Guest Orders Pizza Delivery, Then Trashes Hotel Room
We've all been there: You're in your hotel room. Some movie's playing on TV and you're hooked. You're starving but don't feel like getting out of bed. So, you do what any red-blooded hotel guest would do: order room service.
37-year-old Daniel DiFranco was staying at America's Best Value Inn & Suites in Ohio last week when he got a major pizza craving. And, since that particular brand of hotel—well, motel, really—doesn't do room service (though WiFi and continental breakfast are included!), he picked up the phone and tried to order a pizza. Which, for whatever reason, didn't quite work out as planned.
That's when things got ugly.
Patch.com reports that DiFranco then proceeded to trash his room out of frustration at not being able to order a pizza. Police quickly arrived at the scene and discovered DiFranco had flooded his room, disassembled the bed, and punched holes in the wall.
Actions speak louder than words, so there has been no comment so far about the incident from DiFranco, who was subsequently arrested and charged with vandalism.
The damage is said to have totaled $5,000.
We're guessing the arrest was doubly problematic for DiFranco, who was probably still hungry after not getting his pizza delivered. Maybe next time, he'll just pick a hotel with room service.
