Conrad Opens Its First Hotel In Portugal
Turns out Portugal is about more than just wine-drinking, as the destination seems to be getting hotter and hotter lately (thanks in no small part to Gwyneth Paltrow).
Quinta Do Lago, located on the southern coast of Portugal, just got a Conrad Hotel, and from photos we're seeing, the place is looking pretty top-notch.
The 154-room hotel is not too far from the resort town's stunning Atlantic Ocean coastline (which directly faces Morocco), and on the luxury property there's plenty to keep guests entertained: a health club, spa, outdoor pools, tennis courts and five restaurants and lounges, including the awesome-sounding Dado, where guests can munch on South American cuisine and sip cocktails in personal poolside cabanas that come with individual grills.
Rooms themselves are typical Conrad: stately but not overdone, with a slightly restrained color palette, and plenty of tech goodies to keep business travelers happy. The hotel explains its look as "Moorish," and says the building was "carefully constructed in the form of an 18th Century Portugese palace." Just like Portugal itself, palaces are big these days, too.
Interestingly, the new Hilton property comes just two weeks after we announced the Fontecruz Lisboa, the newest addition to Marriott's Autograph Collection.
