We’ve briefly experienced the screening room ourselves, at the start of a whirlwind interactive theater experience with Punchdrunk, back when the W opened last year. At only 39 seats, it’s an intimate room, accessible through a relatively secluded door next to the wall of sexy plates and books. Tech geeks should not be disappointed, with full Dolby Surround Sound and a Sony 4K projector, supporting RealD 3D. Tickets are £15 ($24) per person, but we’d probably suggest going for a VIP ticket at £20 ($32), which throws in a drink from the W Lounge Bar. Popcorn is provided for all.
The Film Club just had its second screening, featuring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Looper. The rest of the program follows:
November 13 – The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
November 27 – Killing Them Softly
December 11 – Seven Psychopaths
January 8 – Life Of Pi
January 15 – Gangster Squad
Go to www.wlondon.co.uk/forms/film-club for full details on how to buy tickets, including the option to have a pre-or post-film meal at Spice Market, Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Asian-inspired restaurant.
