Zombie Halloween At Chicago's Dana Hotel Puts "The Walking Dead" To Shame

Blame it on our obsession with AMC's The Walking Dead, but we are equally freaked out and overjoyed by the idea of a zombie apocalypse at the Dana Hotel and Spa.It's really happening from Oct. 26-31, when zombie folk will takeover the entire hotel in a scene that won't be for the faint of heart.

Lurking in the lobby, across the entire 5th floor, and on the rooftop Vertigo Sky Lounge, zombies will await guests around every corner—even the elevator will be manned by security guards for your protection.

Ok, so those guards might not hold a candle to zombie slayers like The Walking Dead's Rick Grimes or Daryl Dixon and his badass crossbow, but we'll take whatever we can get when it comes to fighting flesh-eating undead.

Here are highlights of the Dana Hotel's zombie freak out:

*Sip a gin and absinthe Corpse Reviver at Argent Raw Bar before a monster makeover in a designated "ugly room." Step on to an elevator thrill ride, which will open briefly on the 5th floor Dead Zone run amuck with zombies who will absolutely want to get on the lift with you. Pray those security guards can fight them off.
*Vertigo Sky Lounge will greet guests with a monster bash featuring sounds from resident DJ Meg, a complimentary infection scan and one-hour cocktail reception. Up to $1,000 in prizes will be awarded to guests who sport the best costumes or break out awesome zombie dance moves.
*Book a zombie package with the Dana and you'll get an apocalypse survival kit with whistle, flash light, survival snacks, and your choice for a “final meal” before fleeing from the living dead. Packages start at $339.

Rick Graves once said,"something goes wrong, you could be the last man standing."

Something to think about before you pull the trigger on that zombie package.
