This is not so much a bar hop as a bar marathon that runs (get it?) the entire length of Canada. If you have the stamina, so do we.

You’re in the wind-battered east coast of Canada, in Charlottetown, PEI to be exact. The autumn weather’s chilly off of the water and you’re looking for a cozy place in which to warm up. Well, if that’s where you are right now, then The Holman Grand hotel’s Redwater Rustic Grille is where you should be.

Bathed in fall colours and burnished cherry wood furniture, the bar area of this market-driven, locally-inspired restaurant specializes in having an extensive wine list, so some regular patrons are dedicated winos. However, the cocktail crowd is kept satisfied with drinks such as the Urban Fever Martini, consisting of raspberry vodka, Grand Marnier, white cranberry juice and a dash of pomegranate juice, or the house specialty, The Holman Green cocktail, made up of citrus vodka, melon liqueur, and topped off with lime cordial and soda. Makes you feel like summer’s just around the corner, doesn’t it? And get this – these two-ounce cocktails are only $8.50 CAD ($8.69).

As we first wrote about in May, The Holman Grand hotel is Charlottetown’s newest hotel, just opened last year. Rates in November are a great $184 CAD ($188) per night for a Holman King room.
