Know of a hotel room open that's close to the Lucas Oil Stadium? Let us know!

UPDATE, 1.27.12: It's not too late to get a room for the Super Bowl. Here are some LAST-MINUTE HOTEL OPTIONS.

Once again, it's time to scramble for last-minute hotel rooms for the Super Bowl. Yet while the Bud Light Hotel Correspondent already has a place to stay, the rest of may not be so lucky.

As with most Super Bowl host cities, the good places are already sold-out. Indeed, the new JW Marriott Indianapolis was sold-out for this Super Bowl before it even opened...last year. And remember when we showed you that every hotel within two miles of the stadium was sold-out a year in advance?

Suffice to say, you will be sleeping on the outskirts of town in a budget brand hotel if you want to see your team take the field. Just be prepared to break out the cash and/or split the cost with three of your friends.

Most hotels will have a four-night minimum over the Super Bowl weekend which is Thursday, February 2 to Monday, February 6. As you know, the Super Bowl happens on Sunday, February 5.

We used the booking tool on the Super Bowl XLVI's official site and found the usual glut of cheapie budget brands like America's Best Value Inn, Comfort Inn, Best Western, Candlewood Suites, Hampton Inn, Super 8 and Holiday Inn. And while these rooms typically go for less than $100 a night, for the Super Bowl, they are upwards of $350. Multiply that by four nights and it's a very expensive budget hotel stay.

Looking on Expedia yielded pretty much the same types of results and prices. But that's not surprising, Indianapolis isn't exactly a boutique hotel city.

We wish there was better news to report on this but hey, if you're team ends up going to the Super Bowl this year, then that might be enough. After all, you could be a Jets fan like us.

Our assistant editor, Alex, learned that the Hampton Inn Greensburgh, which is about a half-hour away from Indy still has rooms open for the big game. There's a 3-night minimum and rates start at $199 a night. However, these are for smoking rooms. All the good rooms (i.e. nonsmoking rooms) are actually being sold through the Fan Experiences booking site: http://www.fanexperiences.com/Superbowl.html

Also, when search for hotels remember to search for the entire weekend. Just looking for a one-night stay will not yield anything as almost all hotels are doing 3 to 4 night minimums.

Jetsetter.com is now offering Super Bowl Packages. They include three nights at the Four Points by Sheraton in Carmel, IN, game tickets and access to some Super Bowl parties like Rolling Stone. It's pricey but everything's included (except airfare.) Might be worth it if you've got the dough.

We've also heard of travel agents with access to packages, hotel rooms and tickets. Any one trying this method?

Since the NFL teams and organization have taken over the good hotels in Indianapolis, fans are going to have to be roughing it at more mid-market and budget hotels. We've even heard a rumor that Mercedes Benz is putting their people up at a Best Western!

We still have rooms left! Hotel is 15miles from Lucas Oil Stadium. Rooms range from $349-$389.
