St. Regis Bal Harbour 'Invites' You to Celebrate Its Opening With $675 Rooms

Ever since we saw this view of the pool deck at the St. Regis Bal Harbour we've been daydreaming of staying at the high-end resort. So, with its January 19 opening date fast approaching, we thought we'd see if the hotel was offering any opening specials to bring down that initial starting rate of $809 a night.

Here's what we saw when we opened up the hotel's website yesterday...

Well, thanks, St. Reeg, we'd love to celebrate your debut with an exclusive opening offer! Except...

Except... $675 a night? Yep, that's the celebratory deal you can snag if you book by February 29. It is, of course, high season in South Florida, so this rate--available through April 30--reflects that. Not to mention, the luxuriousness of the property.

Even still, the last time we had our heart broken by an OTT opening offer, it was the Crosby Street Hotel--that's in NYC and it was still less than this St. Regis, at $525 a night. To even think about walking through the door, we'd probably have to wait until May 1, when the low-season rate of $459 a night kicks in. Again, this is an opening offer that requires you to book by Feb. 29. It's available until September 30 and then the rate for October 1 through November 1 is $509 a night.

The rate code, should your Black Amex be so inclined, is LCPKG1. We'll be over here sniffling that old lament about hotels we love but just can't be with...
