Usually, when fashion designers get inspired by fancy hotels and resorts, it's bikinis they churn out. But in the case of designer Stephanie Johnson, what we get is a new range of travel accessories. And the hotel that took Johnson's fancy? The Fairmont Mayakoba, on Mexico's Riviera Maya.

We haven't stayed at this property but we've stayed at one next door that's on the same Mayakoba development of lush jungle rolling down to the ocean. Can't say we blame Johnson for getting inspired--it is indeed very pretty!

So is the new line of bags, which includes an iPad case and a few small cosmetics bags that double as cute clutches for a night out on the town—or on the beach at the resort's bar.

Clearly, it was the vibrant colors she spotted around the resort that Johnson loved most about Fairmont Mayakoba--but she was also fond of the Willow Stream Spa and Fairmont Teas in her room. What we love is that Johnson is giving away pieces from the collection every week until February 1, with a grand prize giveaway of a three-night stay at Fairmont Mayakoba, a massage at the spa and the entire Stephanie Johnson Riviera Maya Collection.

Stephanie Johnson's Style Compass blog will post weekly questions each Wednesday (yes, so there's a new one today), which must be answered correctly in order to enter.

If you don't win, you can always buy the pretty cases via Stephanie Johnson's website. The new collection should hit the online store next week, with prices in the $30-70 range. We're partial to this 'Jenny' train case--and can certainly think of some sexy hotel toiletries we could fill it with...
