Gordon Ramsay to Film a New Show Called Hotel Hell (Something He Knows a Bit About)

Gordon Ramsay, a man who has had considerable difficulty keeping his restaurants afloat inside hotels, has just announced a new reality show for FOX tentatively called, Hotel Hell. (Not to be confused with our own Hotel Hell, of course.)

The premise of the show, according to Entertainment Weekly is this:

The reality kingpin will partner with a team of hospitality experts, traveling across the country to try and fix every aspect of struggling hotels, motels and bed & breakfasts.

EW then goes onto list Ramsay's hotel background which includes having studied hotel management as a young man and his own restaurants within hotels. Hmmm...about those hotel restaurants, let's see....

· MAZE at the One & Only Cape Town closed last year amid complaints that guests wanted to see him in the kitchen or at least know he had control over the menu. Also, reports said it was never nearly as crowded as Nobu next door. The restaurant had been open just over a year.

· Gordon Ramsay at the London West Hollywood is Gordon Ramsay in name only after a sale in 2009. (Previously, we said the restaurant had closed. That was wrong on our part.) The hotel also features a Boxwood Cafe concept from Gordon as well.

More on Gordon's hotel restaurants after the jump!

· Gordon Ramsay at the Trianon Palace in Paris was also sold in 2009 after just under a year of operation although Gordon was allowed to keep his name on the restaurant and continue as a "consultant."

· A restaurant overseen by Gordon and run by his protege Angela Hart at the Connaught Hotel in London closed in 2008. And no it did not end amicably.

· Later that year, The Telegraph UK reported that Gordon used the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel in London for clandestine meet-ups with an high-class escort lady. Not so coincidentally his MAZE hotel is located in the hotel.

· Lastly in 2007, one of Gordon Ramsay's employees at his namesake restaurant at the London NYC made some news when it was revealed that he was partying with strippers in an unfinished hotel room at 5 in the morning. Nevertheless, Gordon Ramsay and the Maze restaurants are still operating at the hotel. (Also still operating? The Savoy Grill at the newly redone Savoy London.)

Still, despite all his hotel restaurant woes, Gordon does have a legitimate hotel business--his York and Albany hotel in London which is still open. We just hope he brings the right mix of "hospitality experts" with him to "Hell."
