Trust us, this brown-bag meal is awesome.

We hope you've had fun looking at some of the room photos and public spaces shots at the just-opened Public Chicago from Ian Schrager. As promised, we've got more to show you from the hotel starting now with Public Express, the Public Hotels' new room service concept.

We love room service but there are times when we just don't want to bothered with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with having room service delivered to your room--you know, the awkwardness of letting the waiter into your room, hoping you are not too disheveled looking and that there isn't any underwear strewn about, waiting uncomfortably while he sets up the tray and then hemming and hawing over giving an added tip.

But now with Public Express, you don't have to deal with any of that. That's because the simple meals and sides are delivered within minutes to your room and left at your door with just a sharp knock from the staffer.

Need a visual on how Public Express works? Peruse our step-by-step photo gallery below!

There's no signing of the bill (it's charged to your room with an added 18 percent service charge), no making room for the unwieldy room service table and no calling housekeeping when you're done to remove the tray. And because the meal arrives in a brown paper handle bag, it's perfect to take the meal on the go.

But best of all, the prices are very reasonable for room service. Our challah french toast with bacon was just $11 and that came with coffee, a banana and orange juice.

Way back when Ian talked about his Gramercy Park Hotel being a game-changer. Well, it wasn't. But Public Express is. Let the copycatting begin!

Of course, we realize this is essentially, food in a box. And some of you might prefer a more traditional room service which the hotel also offers. Or you could just skip on down to The Pump Room and eat fare from Jean-Georges Vongerichten in a far sexier setting. But again, we'll have more on that soon.

Love it

I'm sold. More of this, please, hotels! Ian may not want copycats, but I sure do.

It's surprising...

that more places haven't done this. I've had something sort of similar at the Hampshire Hotel in London where they brought up coffee and a croissant in a baggie with a piece of fruit. But I still had to wait a bit for it and I still had to sign a slip. This was genius. They just left it at my door. I barely had time to put on pants but it turns out I didn't need to put on pants at all! Hee.
