There's so much hotel buzz in South Beach lately, with new construction and rebrandings on the way, is it any wonder that even the classic little Deco properties are deciding to spruce themselves up? The latest to announce a multimillion dollar renovation? The Savoy.

The 75-suite hotel has new owners and, along with the new look, new management as well. Don't look now, but Coral Hospitality--the company lucky enough to scoop up Gansevoort South Miami Beach--will be taking the reigns here at the southern end of the beach. We've also learned that Coral is now managing another little South Beach gem, The Angler's Boutique Resort.

So far, we couldn't say what Coral has brought to the Gansevoort in terms of a unique mindset or feel. So it's interesting that they now have three South Beach feathers in their cap. Could this be the start of a brand new Miami Beach hotel empire?

We're definitely intrigued by the work that will start in the next couple of months at The Savoy. It has a spectacular location in the South of Fifth neighborhood, and we're a total sucker for these pretty, white Art Deco buildings. The hotel currently has one- and two-bedroom suites, ocean views, two outdoor swimming pools, a fitness center, restaurant and lounge and the obligatory meeting space.

The Savoy is sold out this weekend, but otherwise rates start at just $119 a night. It's near impossible to beat that on the beach, so if you're at all curious about this under-the-radar property, we say check in now before the jackhammering--and rate gouging post-reno--begins.
