Flatiron Finally Makes A Move

We got a bit ahead of ourselves the other week, when we said the Flatiron Hotel wouldn't be ready for September.

In fact, one day before said post went up, the hotel had quietly opened without a single statement or announcement from any member of their team. In fact, the hotel has been bought up by Robert Chan (and is now being billed as the Flatiron Hotel Toshi). And in fact, guests have been staying there since Monday.

When we spoke to the hotel's new brand management company today, this is what they told us:

"There is a lot we want to do with this hotel, and it is important to work with the management to see what we are actually capable of. We want to have cohesive alignment."

Rates for Labor Day weekend start at $239 per night for a Broadway Standard, the simplest room the aquarium-loving hotel offers.
