Plug Panels and Tiled Bathrooms on Cruise Ships? Sounds Like a Hotel, Right?

It's almost been a year since the last time we peeked inside a stateroom onboard a cruise ship. Last time, we compared and contrasted everything from the bathroom to bed comfort between a regular oceanview room onboard the Carnival Glory and your average land-based hotel room. This time, the bar is raised with a full look inside one of Cunard's Princess Grill Suites onboard the Queen Victoria.

The full photo gallery can be found over at our sister site, Jaunted, but here's the gist of what's new in cruise ships, to keep them up with hotel advances:

· Tech-friendly: The desk in the Princess Grill Suites is a proper desk, with our must-have: a plug strip. The plugs accommodate UK, Euro & US plugs, which is more than we can expect of regular hotel rooms even these days.
· Views: Okay so this is really the major benefit to cruise ships—that the scenery is continuously changing, and usually each view is more stunning than the next. No complaints here.
· Bathroom: Could not believe it. That bathroom in the Grill Suites are tiled, have bathttubs, and—l;in a very hotel-ish turn—are stocked with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries.
