One thing to keep in mind about the Charlotte Inn on Martha's Vineyard: the exquisite three-room downstairs lobby doubles as an art gallery. Basically everything you see photographed below is available for sale, though you're likely to spend quite a bit.

The historic inn, which was built in 1864, and sits right off the main strip in Edgartown (one of the island's three main towns), has stuffed birds, live birds, paintings, antique telephones, brass statues, and even a unique collection of vintage wooden letterboxes. If you wanted to spend four hours poring over the gleaming relics, you still wouldn't be able to take it all in. Take a look below at our photos from a recent visit...
