The rooms here are kinda small. But in true Morgans style, they are decked out with carefully thought-out designer pieces, including a lilac chair, translucent orange side table, and long curtains flanking a mirrored wall. Yes, it's to fool the eye into thinking the room is larger--and it totally works!

Like at sister property, Delano in Miami, you can tell there are old bones behind the slick decor. The bathroom here is miniscule, and the closet is big but in a way that is not entirely functional (the ceilings go on forever, making it a great place to stash your really tall friend—or maybe just some snow skis).

Clift is ideally located, just a short stroll from Union Square shopping but in the midst of the more 'interesting' Tenderloin. Rooms start at $315 this weekend but one of our favorite things about this hotel is the deals it seems to offer every now and then--like last holiday season when rooms were going for just over a hundred bucks.
