After doing some digging, and asking around, we have to congratulate our sniffer on a job well done. It turns out that not only has the lobby scent been extra powerful over the past month, they've been testing out different types of scents. Which would explain our befuddlement, when, every time we stepped inside, the smell was equally pungent, but somehow, different.
After our overnight stay, a front desk agent told us the hotel would in fact have a signature scent, but they were currently trying out different types of smells. As a result, the perfume in the lobby would change on a regular basis. She explained they would make things "official" in two weeks.
But after speaking with a spokesperson for the hotel, it seems the scent has already been decided. Drumroll, please!
ScentAir has created the signature "oriental" scent:
"It is a modern oriental fragrance with fine woods like sandalwood, warm spices and smoky leather notes. At its foundation lies oudh, the powerhouse of the aroma. The scent is meant to evoke comfort while still transporting the guest to a different place."
What are your thoughts on this lobby's funk? Does it put your in the mood? Or turn you off your food (Marble Lane is located right inside the lobby)? Let us know in the comments below!
