Aside from being the Magic City's newest hotel (for as long as it can hold that tile), the Hampton Inn Brickell is pulling out the green guns and aiming to be Miami’s first LEED-certified hotel, and the third LEED-Hampton hotel worldwide. We like the ambition.
The hotel's eco-friendly homework includes: installing charging stations for electric cars, lights and thermostats that automatically turn off when guests leave their rooms, a massive cistern to harvest rainwater to use for cleaning, irrigation and in public restrooms, and a green ozone laundry system.
Also: in a city where parking matters, hybrids and electric cars will score preferred parking spaces.
Aside from the eco stuff, you pretty much know what you're going to get with a Hampton Inn--which we like, in this town full of glitzy, glossy properties that claim to be all that and a bag of chips. It's almost refreshing to see this line from the Hampton Inn website, for example:
Our promise to you includes a clean, comfortable hotel room. In fact, we have 221 of them!
Alrighty then!
