Another Sad Rocker Death Happens in a Hotel

August 12, 2011 at 3:45 PM | by | ()

Glam band Heavy metal fans lost an important part of the 80s music scene today and sadly, like many tortured musicians before him, his last moments were spent alone in a hotel room.

Warrant singer Jani Lane was found dead at a Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, Calif, apparently from a drug overdose, according to TMZ.

Investigators found a half-empty bottle of vodka and prescription medication in the hotel room where Jani Lane died yesterday ... TMZ has learned. Sources tell us paramedics were called to the Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills, CA yesterday around 5:15 PM. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Sad news all around but even sadder considering his last moments were spent in a budget hotel room in the Valley. Even not-so-widely known rapper Pimp C went out in the Mondrian in West Hollywood.

Nevertheless, we'll be putting Heaven and Cherry Pie on our playlists this weekend. "Heaven isn't too far awaaaaayyy."
