Last week, we wondered if toiletry dispensers were unsanitary or not but over at the Benson Hotel in Portland, you won't have to worry about that since the hotel offers both toiletry dispensers and toiletry bottles. And with the good stuff too--Gilchrist & Soames.

There is one exception though. Unless you prefer using hotel soap, you will have to pump the dispenser for the shower gel as that was not offered in bottle form. Go figure.

Like we said, we don't mind using dispensers so long as they are filled with the good stuff. And we actually found another positive for dispensers--having a larger quantity of shampoo and conditioner at our disposal meant we didn't have to stand there naked in the shower frantically trying to squeeze every last drop out of the bottle.

While our stay at the Benson was mixed (it's an older hotel with room key issues and marijuana smells), the place is rather affordable. Room rates start at $219 a night this weekend.
