Owners have apparently taken a long, hard look at their original concept, and sought out ways to tweak the Pod idea into a more tech-savvy, more user-friendly version of itself. Which may explain the slightly more central location, on East 39th St and Lexington Avenue. Because, really, who hangs out in the fifties, anyway?
Owing to the success of JM Rizzi's graffiti murals, the artist will likely produce new works for the second location as well.
The Pod is also easing up on its "no watching movies alone in your room" credo. New rooms will each contain a console for guests to watch their own movies on an HD screen, via their laptops or smart phones. Sometimes, change is good.
