JDV to Open Second Hotel Outside of Cali with The Hotel Lincoln in Chicago

Perennial Virant, soon to be serving room service at the Hotel Lincoln

The Chicago Hotel Scene just keeps getting hotter. Not only are we awaiting the opening of Ian Schrager's new Public Hotel on September 12 and the first-ever U.S. location of Radisson Blu on Halloween, but now we've got word that Joie De Vivre Hotels will open their second hotel outside of California in Chi-town. (The first is opening soon in Scottsdale.)

The company finalized a management agreement last week for a 184-room hotel near Lincoln Park on North Clark Street. The hotel is currently closed as it undergoes significant renovations (it's being built within a historic landmarked building) but it should open by February 2012 and will be called, Hotel Lincoln. The 12-story property is also the tallest building in the neighborhood, and Hotel Lincoln will boast phenomenal views from its guest rooms. Of the 184 rooms and suites, 60% will have direct views of Lake Michigan and the remaining ones will overlook downtown Chicago.

Hotel Lincoln will also feature a new lobby bar and lounge as well as an all-season rooftop bar. In addition, the hotel houses one of the city’s most acclaimed restaurants, the popular Perennial Virant restaurant (pictured above) operated by the Boka Restaurant Group. Perennial Virant will provide breakfast and room service for Hotel Lincoln guests.

Rooftop bar, killer lake views and a hot restaurant downstairs and in-room? What's not to love about this hotel announcement? Oh and because this is JDV we're talking about, the rooms will probably have free WiFi too. Sweet! Now we've just got to get excited about heading to Chicago in the middle of winter.
