Five Hotel Restaurants We'd Hit Up for Miami Spice

Miami's two-month-long Restaurant Week-style promotion, Miami Spice, kicks off on Monday. Who cares if it's 90 degrees outside when you can score lunches for $22 and dinners for $35 at the city's best restos?

Especially this year, when a slate of new hotel restaurants joins in the discounted fun for the first time. Here's our shortlist of Hotel Restaurants We'd Hit Up For Miami Spice and the dishes we've already earmarked to order. Miami Spice runs from August 1 through September 30, so start making those rezzies now...

1. The Royal at The Raleigh: Hot chef John DeLucie has already checked out, but the poolside tables are still super pretty and the menu yummy. The Royal is doing lunches and dinners (not all restaurants are offering both), and Spice offerings at lunchtime include Ahi Tuna Ceviche, a Danish Blue grilled cheese that's calling our name, and a lavender pana cotta for dessert.

2. Blue Door Fish at Delano Hotel: Our meal here recently was one of the best we've had in Miami. Chef Claude Troisgros does magical French things to seafood, and you can try the Bigeye Tuna TarTar and Snapper ala Plancha during Spice. If you want to splurge and go for the regular menu, we recommend the Crabavocat (guacamole with crab!) and the Loup Cajou.

3. db Bistro Moderne at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Miami: Miami Spice is the perfect time to pay Daniel Boulud's latest spot a visit. We're loving the sound of his Peruvian ceviche du jour, the Tarte Fine, and the Passion Fruit-Milk Chocolate Cake for dessert. At which point, we'll probably need a room upstairs.

4. 1500 Degrees at the Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach: We've been meaning to try chef Paula DaSilva's farm-to-table restaurant for months now--Spice gives us the perfect excuse to do it. Top of our list is the pork belly tacos (pictured above) and the 10oz. Prime top sirloin "Picanha".

5. Zuma at EPIC Hotel: There's no menu posted for this posh Japanese resto yet, but we don't care. They're doing lunch and we'd eat anything they'll give us, based on the incredible buzz and big names Zuma consistently attracts. They actually did Spice last year as well, but we're including it on this list anyway, because it's still packing as much power-lunching punch as it did when it first opened in May 2010.
