The Yas Hotel in Abu Dhabi, our favorite phallic racetrack side hotel is now officially a part of the Viceroy Hotels chain. The company put forth this statement today:

Viceroy Hotel Group is thrilled to announce that it has been selected as operator of the renowned Yas Hotel on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the Emirate’s leading leisure and entertainment destination. The hotel, owned by Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabi’s leading property development, investment and management company, will officially transition to Viceroy management immediately.

Viceroy will now be handling the Yas Hotel's 449 rooms and 75 suites but more importantly, Viceroy will also be managing that crazy light show that plays on the hotel's exterior canopy and which contains 5,000+ LEDs and glass panels. They will also be responsible for managing the whims of guests who arrive to attend the Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

So far it doesn't look like the hotel will change its name to Viceroy Yas Hotel but that could change. For now, room rates are holding steady at about $230 a night.
