The Yotel New York Opens Today, With Rooms Booked Up Until Next Thursday
Today. Is. The. Day. Yotel New York has finally opened to the public, though with limited amenities as this is the soft-opening period. The announcement came earlier today on Yotel's official Twitter account, @YotelHQ, and guests should be arriving this afternoon for their very first sleep on the motorized beds of Premium Cabins. First Class Cabins and the VIP suites are not quite ready for their close-up, but trust that we'll keep tabs on them and let you know when it's cool to book one of the rooms with their own terrace hot tubs!
If you'd like to get in on the Yotel freshness, the website is only showing available rooms beginning next Thursday night, June 9. The price? $349. If you can keep your pants on and wait until the night of June 12th however, the rate drops a full hundred down to $249, which sounds so much better for the area being called "Times Square West."
Until the Yotel polishes up all 669 of their rooms, your best bet for experiencing it during these first finicky days is to head into the spacious lobby on 10th Avenue and gawk at the Yobot luggage robot. If all has gone according to plan, this specially-built machine will gladly retrieve and store your luggage for a $2 fee, repaying you with the delight of watching a giant robot perform menial tasks. Ahh, geek hotels!
