Still, with the recent closing of The Sahara, this news about a legendary Vegas property (Elvis played here people!) makes us a little sad. They just don't make 'em like they used to folks.

Our little sib, VegasChatter alerted us yesterday that the iconic-but-has-seen-better-days Hilton Las Vegas will no longer be called the Hilton Las Vegas as Hilton Hotels has apparently ditched the property.
According to the LVRJ, Hilton has decided not to renew the franchise agreement which means that the Hilton Las Vegas will have to give up the hotel name and its loyalty program.
However, a spokesperson for the hotel said that the property will announce a new partnership with another major hotel group before the end of the year.
Hmmm...maybe Starwood now that it no longer has dibs on Planet Hollywood? Or maybe this could be another opportunity for Marriott's Edition Hotels which are under pressure to expand?
