Joie De Vivre Will Open The Drinkwater in Scottsdale This Fall

The old Hotel Theodore formerly known as The Mondrian Scottsdale nee James Scottsdale has finally gotten a new identity, The Drinkwater, which comes from the hotel's location on Drinkwater Boulevard. (That name came about in honor of Scottsdale's former four-term mayor, Herb Drinkwater.)
If you recall, the hotel was snapped up by Joie De Vivre Hotels back in February and when it reopens in the fall will actually be JDV's first hotel outside of California.
Right now, the place is undergoing some "reimagination" to showcase the spirit of the Southwest as envisioned by architects Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat of Stamberg Aferiat Architecture.. The hotel is not closed but there is limited availability.
However, when it reopens fully in the fall you can expect two indoor/outdoor bars, a new restaurant concept, 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space and two swimming pools plus a pool bar. Oh and don't forget, the free WiFi that we love JDV so much for.
Also, given the hotel's new name, we're thinking there is going to be lots of fun wordplay in the minibars....
