Scottish actress Karen Gillan may not be known outside of the U.K., where she stars in the BBC show Doctor Who, but she's quickly earning a rep for herself here in the States. Though, we're guessing it's not the kind of buzz she's hoping to get. Gillan was found nekkid in the halls of the Ace Hotel New York after a night of hardcore partying.

According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old was found by some guests at 7 a.m. whimpering and only wearing her birthday suit. Security shortly arrived with a sheet to cover the star and escorted her to her room.

This is why hotel partying should be done inside the room, not outside. Sure, New York hotel rooms are notoriously small, but the actress could have chosen the hotel's 711-square-foot loft room to party hard. It has a living room area and its own fridge stocked with a minibar.

Gillan's clothesless escapade had Ace guests nicknaming her "Lady Godiva," after the English earl's wife who famously rode a horse naked. That's pretty mortifying. On the upside, she can nurse what we can safely assume to be a horrible hangover with some of that excellent Stumptown coffee. No, it doesn't make up for everyone in the hotel seeing you in the buff, but you have to look for a silver lining somewhere.
