The Jersey Shore Might Be Going to Rehab (Not That Kind, The Hard Rock Kind)

Atlantic City could certainly use a boost in new hotels these days but is Hard Rock really the right option? Only time will tell.

Just when we thought The Revel would be the last new hotel in AC for a while comes news that Hard Rock International has filed for a development permit in AC to build a hotel on the southern end of the boardwalk.

The hotel will actually open in two phases--the first being a 208-room hotel with 54,800-sq.ft. of casino space. That will then be followed by an additional 27,500-sq.ft. of gaming and 642 rooms.

The Hard Rock Atlantic City will also include a Hard Rock Cafe, a 7,185-square-foot spa, a fitness and recreation area with an indoor pool, and an outdoor pool terrace.

Actually, a Hard Rock in AC now sounds kinda good despite our misgivings about the Hard Rock in Vegas (so-so rooms, terrible service, ridiculous extra fees.) It's about time the boardwalk got livelied up.

Just don't bring over Rehab from Vegas. After all, it could be very troublesome and not just for the people in the water.
