The Four Seasons Chicago is Making Their Own Franks for National Hot Dog Month

July is National Hot Dog Month, which should be a holiday in Chicago, since it's basically one of the city's basic food groups. The Windy City is known for its loaded Chicago-style hot dog. To celebrate the delicious encased meat, the Four Seasons Chicago is whipping up its own housemade hot dog with all of the trimmings.

You won't find odd parts in this dog; chef Kevin Hickey makes the all-beef frankfurter in a hand-cranked sausage grinder. To get the most flavor out of the hot dog, it's smoked, boiled and charred and then served in a poppy-seed brioche bun.

Of course, to be truly Chicago-style, the dog has to come with tons of toppings. The Four Season's classic version is piled with housemade relish, mustard, pickles and celery salt. You can just ask to have it with the housemade ketchup, but it'll be a dead giveaway that you're a tourist.

In honor of National Hot Dog Month, the hotel will offer the frank with a glass of locally made Goose Island Summer Time Ale for $16. The dog deal will be on offer through July.
