It's been a long time coming with this one but it looks like the end is finally in sight. At long last, The Dream Downtown, aka The Cheesegrater, will start taking reservations on June 13.
As for when the hotel officially opens that is still TBD, according to the hotel, but it won't be too far behind. In fact, the hotel will soft open around June 15 with the official open status coming after July 5. That's also when all of the hotel services, like 24-hour room service should also be in place.
Currently, the hotel is testing its staff and "putting on the finishing touches" as well as hosting some private events. All very good signs that the opening is on track. No word on the room rates but they should be pretty reasonable during the soft-opening phase. (Or at least we hope!)
But another more important question remains--what sort of pool parties will they be having on their rooftop pool deck? To be continued....
