We also were tickled by the little extra amenities in the room like the Louis Vuitton "100 Legendary Trunks" book on the coffee table (which is fitting because faux suitcases serve as table tops for the dressers, nightstands, desks and vanity tables), the minibars with generously-sized alcohol bottles and cocktail shakers, the leather bound newspaper handle on the doors and tufted leather headboards and couches.
The inspiration for the rooms and decor is very much "old Hollywood" complete with black and white photos of legendary stars and floor lamps that resemble old set lights. Yet unlike most places that seek out the "old Hollywood" look with dark and seductive decor, Mr. C is bright, white and happy. In fact, it feels very South of France and a bit nautical, like you're cruising around on George Clooney's yacht on the Mediterranean somewhere.

Anyways, we're still waiting the go-ahead to publish our photos but why wait for us? The rooms are available through Tablet Hotels starting at a special introductory rate of $245 a night. Everything should be up and running now, including the unbelievably cool lobby bar and the pool deck. The Mr. C restaurant will open on June 8.
We'll have more detes on the rooms and public spaces and that secret glass elevator next week!
