Every time we think Snuggies have gone the way of mom jeans, they seem to pop up again. Now, they are being worn at the Hotel Erwin. But this time there's a good reason for donning the blanket with sleeves: Locals who come to the hotel's High Rooftop Lounge in a Snuggie will get a free drink.
Wearing a Snuggie outside of your home is a horrible form of public humiliation, but it just might be worth it for free alcohol. It's part of the Venice Beach hotel's Snuggie Snuggle Fest. June nights are usually chilly in Los Angeles, so the hotel's hoping that being wrapped up in a Snuggie will make you brave the cold and hang in the open-air rooftop bar.
Luckily, the Snuggie won't be your only line of defense against the cold. The hotel will have heat lamps and serve cold-weather-appropriate spiked hot chocolate and ginger-pear hot toddies that will warm you up while you watch the sunset.
Snuggie Snuggle Fest heats up Mondays to Thursdays in the rooftop bar from 8 p.m. to close. BYO Snuggie.
