If the fam needs a break this Memorial Day weekend, bring the brood to the Bahamas. The Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort is offering a holiday special for you, the spouse and the kiddies.

The Love Your Family package includes guaranteed connecting rooms or a suite, a $50 resort credit and a bunch of planned family bonding time for $249 a night.

While you can spend most of the weekend hanging on the beach, the hotel will keep families entertained with patriotic-themed crafts and sand art; patriotic trivia; karaoke; poolside movies; a fair with snow cones, cotton candy, pie-eating contests and a petting zoo; and a Beach Olympics with a balloon toss, volleyball, hula-hoop and jump-rope competitions.

There also will be a Bahamian Barefoot Beach Party, that will give you and your kids a taste of the local culture. The Caribbean meal will include jerk chicken, fried fish burgers, hot dogs and, of course, local desserts. The beach party entrance fee is $28 for adults, $14 for kids 4 to 12 and free for those under four.
