To Get a $600 Armani Hotel Room for Free, You've Got to Spend $23K on Airfare

Why pay $600 per night to sleep at Dubai's Armani Hotel if you can get it for free? The only catch—of course there's a catch—is that you'll be paying through the nose in another way for the privilege of a comped stay here, as Dubai-based airline Emirates has just launched an incentive to fly in First or Business Class this spring.

Here's the deal: you've got to book an Emirates flight out of either Los Angeles or Houston and fly to Cape Town (CPT), Vienna (VIE), Christchurch (CHC), Manchester (MAN), Geneva (GVA), Copenhagen (CPH) or Hamburg (HAM) in First or Business.

These are not cheap tickets, mind you. You may recognize movie stars, world-famous sports figures, political heads and Fortune 500 CEOs in First Class on Emirates, especially to some of these destinations. That's pretty much all who can regularly afford it, and Emirates is thanking those in First Class with a two-night stay at The Armani Hotel Dubai or the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Business Class travelers have their pick of the The Address Dubai Marina or the Jumeirah Emirates Towers.

Out of curiosity, we just priced out Business Class round-trip flights between Houston and Manchester and then Los Angeles and Vienna. Both were totaling around $23,000. We attempted to retrieve some First Class pricing but the Emirates site kept experiencing an error, so we're assuming the sheer number of zeros in the flight total must've crashed it.
