Chicago's Blackstone Renaissance may be 100 years old, but it's showing that you don't have to be stuffy in your old age. The hotel is keeping itself youthful with a new Pop Art exhibit that features everything from superheroes to cartoon characters.

On display in the hotel's Art Hall, "Risk and Reward" is a colorful 21-piece retrospective from Chicago-born artist Erik DeBat, who examines American pop culture in his work, blending abstract expressionism and Pop Art.

The highlight is comic book-inspired works. In "Death Before Dishonor," a black-and-white Batman is about to throw a punch. Flanking the caped crusader are smaller canvases that read, "Whamm!" and "Kapow!," making the work look like it came straight outta the old-school Adam West series. Throughout the exhibit, you'll also find collages, silk screens and self-portraits from DeBat. The hotel offers a glimpse into his world with a movie of DeBat's creative process in the hall and in your room.

The hotel's made an effort to feature more unconventional works in its Art Hall. Prior to DeBat's exhibit, it showcased a graffiti art display from a tagger who's in the Graffiti Hall of Fame.

"Risk and Reward" will be up through August. If you like what you see, you can pick up prints and T-shirts from the artist in the hotel’s Guilt Shop. Rooms at the hotel start at $159 a night.
