The Yobot at Yotel Will Cost $2 But No Tipping Necessary

The other day we geeked out over the Yobot coming to the Yotel Times Square when it opens on June 1.

Using a mechanical arm, the Yobot will pick up your bags and place them into storage lockers before, after or even during your stay. While this service makes Yotel stand out from any other hotel in NYC (quite a feat), it's not free. But it's not expensive either at $2 a bag. (although this could change.)

That's probably what you'd tip a bellman to store your luggage anyways. But with the Yobot, there is no awkward passing of crumpled up dollar bills involved. Ahh, we heart robots.

Is Yobot a Member

If not a card carrying member of the hotel union, Mr. Bot may not be able to cross the picket line set in protest.  At least with a person, the crumbled dollar is provided for effort and other personal income.
