Madonna Uses a Malawi Hotel to Store Her Gym Equipment

Madonna is now facing criticism for squandering money while she neglected to pay up the millions she pledged to Malawi, the homeland of her adopted children, David and Mercy James.

The money was supposed to fund schools, orphanages and hospitals, but Madge has been instead using her loot to store gym equipment in a hotel in the African country.

According to Daily Mail, the Material Girl's staff had to book two rooms in Malawi's most upscale hotel to store all of her fitness equipment for three years, just in case she ever returned to the country.

We're guessing that the unnamed hotel/gym storage facility is the Kumbali Country Lodge, where Madonna stayed during her adoption trips.

However, the case of the missing money isn't as clear-cut as blaming Madonna. She's donated $11 million to a charity that was supposed to build the new facilities in Malawi, but it went elsewhere. Specifically, the singer's adviser charged with overseeing the charity, who was living it up with parties in the same hotel that Madonna favored. He even bought blocks of rooms to prevent other guests from trying to get a look-see.

Lawsuits are piling up on both ends—Madonna's and that of the Malawi staff that was hired to work at her school for girls, the plans for which have been scrapped. And it's not clear who is in the wrong, but really, Madge? Two hotel rooms' worth of gym equipment for three years? Is a treadmill that important?

Maybe we should be easier on her, our governments too make promises of aid that they cannot fulfil!
