A small group of in-the-know Padres fans was in the glass-fenced lounge area sitting in the woven dark brown seats. And unlike the poor schlubs in the ball park, these people were nice and toasty thanks to fire pits and moveable heaters.
The view from the lounge isn't perfect; you can't see all of the field and what's going on. However, you almost feel like you're at the game, since the bar puts it on one of the large flat-screen TVs outside so that you have the audio for the play-by-play.
Plus, you can nosh on ball park staples like a pretzel with mustard and down a beer while you watch. But unlike the ticket-holders in Petco Park, you won't have to fight crowds when the game's over and you have to leave.
