London to Get a Hard Rock Hotel (Golf Claps)

What’s this? London to get its very own trashy Hard Rock Hotel? It sure looks like it. But honestly, it’s not a major surprise, given that every hotel group on earth either has a hotel in the city or has announced plans to open one for the 2012 Olympics.

Rumour has it that the Hard Rock will open in Leicester Square and we couldn’t think of a better fit for it location-wise. The group has been inspecting the old Odeon cinema which coincidentally has planning approved for a hotel and residential block.

The hotel will be five-star and have between 200 – 250 rooms. We wonder what Mr W over at W London has to say about its potential neighbour?

The hotel will be the first Hard Rock Hotel in Europe. We just hope the Hard Rock Cafe doesn’t go getting all precious about its name; we wouldn’t want another court case on our hands.

No more deets yet but we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
