Some Royal Wedding Packages We'd Happily Get In On: Afternoon Tea

March 4, 2011 at 3:17 PM | by | Comments (0)

You may not want to stay in London on a Royal Wedding Package (because you have more sense than money, like), but that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the Kate-n-Wills joy. No, for a fraction of the price, you can just fill your stomach instead! If you want to have a royally nice afternoon tea, try some of these wedding specials.

Hilton Park Lane

The Hilton London Park Lane have created a Royal Wedding Sapphire Afternoon tea - named after Diana's Kate's engagement ring. Sadly there's no sapphire for you, but it does include references to the gem throughout.

The tea includes a Loveberry cocktail, cupcakes with "K" and "W" decorations and bouquet icing, shortbread wedding cake and passion fruit hearts. Combine these with the usual suspects and you got yourself the Royal Wedding Sapphire Afternoon tea. Available from April 26 - May 1, from £32 per person. You can book online here.

The Royal Horseguards

The Royal Horseguards Hotel, never ones to miss a out on a high tea package opportunity, has come up with a Regal Afternon Tea and judging by the photo it looks pretty good.

The menu plays on words and it too has Sapphire tea, coronation chicken sarnies, miniature iced wedding cake, Queen of Puddings, Kir Royale jelly, English Rose cupcakes and William and Kate inscribed heart-shaped cookies. We just hope it's served on a Union Jack table cloth like in the photo. Priced at £32 per person and available throughout April.

The Langham London

The Langham Hotel London's Tea Royale’ is the most expensive Royal Wedding high tea we've come across at £51.50 per person, however this is the Langham we're talking about.

Apart from the royal price there's a glass of Champagne Laurent-Perrier NV to start, Westminster Abbey chocolate cake, Apricot and Raspberry Royal Crown and Royal Champagne jelly. To be brutally honest it doesn't look like there's been that much effort on the hotel's side here apart from sticking a "royal" name in front of the ingredients. But at least the food will be good. Available throughout April.

Flemings Mayfair

Fleming's Hotel Mayfair have created a Royal Bejeweled Afternoon Tea which includes a Queen Bee Champagne Cocktail, Fortnum and Mason's Royal Blend Tea and a tea stand that glitters "like the Crown Jewels" apparently. A little more effort people please! This one's £32.50 and available throughout April.

Sheraton on Park Lane

Last but not least The Sheraton Park Lane will be serving up Sovereign Afternoon Tea in Palm Court. We did Valentine's Day tea there last month and it was pretty sweet. This is the longest running Royal tea starting on March 10 until May 31, talk about getting your mileage! Expect Red Windsor cheese sarnies, coronation chicken, wedding biccies and fruit cake plus all of the standard stuff.

And with this one you even get a demitasse set to take home, especially designed by Churchill China. Just think of the cash back the kiddies will get from that on Ebay in years to come. Priced at £45.

So there you have it 5 Royal High Tea Packages nicely summed up for you. We do the hard work so you don't have to.
