Look Away Now if You Don't Want to Know What the Concierge Thinks of You

The other week we tweeted up our story about concierges at InterContinental Hotels getting their hands on some iPad2s to work into their day jobs. While we love the idea of using such cool technology to help out guests, particularly with the FaceTime video feature, not everyone is thrilled and by everyone we mean, the person behind the amazeballs Twitter feed--ConciergeCorner.

"The Chief" at @ConciergeCorner tweeted today about our story saying,

I read on @HotelChatter that select InterContinental hotels will be getting the iPad 2. Why? #StickWithWhatWorks #RealPeople #JustSayin

Stop, they had us at their comedic hashtags. So we had to investigate some more and we're loving what we see, even if it makes us a little self-conscious about our next Concierge request.

That's because @ConciergeCorner is not one of those ridiculously peppy "Yay Hotels!" sort of Twitter feed. No, no, no, these are a brutally honest observations that are bound to have you second-guessing yourself when you approach a concierge with a question. Here are some of our favorite ConciergeCorner tweets:

True, a lot of the tweets are gripes about how he or she works too hard and without enough pay and he or she could probably offer up some more advice for how to get the most of out a concierge. But so what? This feed brought us genuine chuckles on a trying Monday monring. And can you imagine if he ever ran into Josh Flagg?

No word on who runs this and at what hotel but he does mention in one-tweet that it's a 5-star hotel. We'd normally try to suss out this person's identity but we're not ready to stop the brilliance of @ConciergeCorner just yet.

I love that!

Really awesome... Have worked many years in hotel and it's a pity Twitter didn't exist at the time!

From a "concierge liaison"

I've been working in concierge relations for almost ten years now... this is EXACTLY the frustration concierges relay to me on a daily basis. A Ritz SB concierge was actually asked if there was a Golden Corral nearby and vented on Facebook a while back. THANK YOU Hotel Chatter for bringing this amazingness of a Twitter feed to our knowledge. #obsessed

love it

my new obsession too! and dee, a golden corral? AMAZING
