Thompson is Slowly Eradicating the Sheraton from Their New London Hotel

Update: Belgraves is now set for Fall 2011. Tick tock, tick tock.
If you are as sick of the royal wedding as we are, then you will be happy to hear of some news outta London that does not involve Will and Kate and naughty Camilla. Belgraves, a Thompson Hotel from the Thompson Hotels group is well under way with its renovations. Here's a recent shot of the hotel taken by our London spy about two weeks ago. They write:
If you look up into windows you can see that they basically tore out everything and will start from scratch.
And that's a good thing, since this place used to be a sad Sheraton.
Last we heard the opening was still on for Summer 2011. But when we checked in on the hotel's own website we just saw a cryptic "Opening in 2011" date. Please Thompson, don't let the ghost of Six Columbus follow you across the pond.
Another pic and a hotel description are after the jump.

More on Belgraves from the hotel's website:
Opening in 2011, Belgraves - a Thompson Hotel will be located in London’s affluent and internationally recognized Belgravia neighborhood, just minutes from the city’s renowned shops and historic Sloane Square. The hotel and its 85 guestrooms will feature bold interior architecture and design, and an attention to privacy, blending traditional British hospitality with Thompson’s American bohemian attitude. The hotel will feature an 80-seat signature restaurant, an intimate library bar, and state-of-the-art fitness center, making it a traveler’s intimate oasis amidst a bustling Central London.
