Of course, we know a piece of cake can't sway an entire hotel experience but it can't hurt.
As for the rest of the hotel, this Mandarin will be nearly boutique hotel size, with 99 guest rooms and 39 suites. There's only renderings up on the website but the rooms look like typical Mandarin Oriental rooms--luxe with a hint of Asian flair--although these rooms promise "chic, contemporary French design."
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental and its swimming pool also sound like a spa wet dream, but we think the hotel's location on rue Saint-Honoré near designer shops, the Place Vendôme and the Tuileries gardens is what will ultimately lure well-heeled guests away from other expensive hotels in the city.
Reservations aren't open yet but it's a Mandarin Oriental in Paris, expect to pay at least the price of a Louis Vuitton for one night.
