The open-air U-shaped hotel will have a glass-walled lobby looking out at the ocean. The 164 teal and orange rooms will have teak tea wood furniture and balconies. But let's talk amenities: There will be free WiFi throughout the hotel, pets are welcome, a personal trainer will be available, sightseeing tours will be offered, and there will be bike and roller blade rentals. If you don't feel like taking a dip in the Pacific, a solar-heated outdoor pool and patio will be under a steel-trestled roof. There also will be two restaurants, a 24-hour gym and plentiful underground parking.
As for the green part, the hotel used wood from sustainable forests, half of construction waste was recycled or salvaged and it installed high-efficiency toilets and low-flow showerheads. But we're guessing its close-to-the-beach location will be the No. 1 reason folks seek this place out.
According to the website, rooms are available for booking starting September 5, but when we tried reserving one online, it directed us to call the reservations line at 800-599-1515. Room will start at $250 a night.
