It's official! The St John Hotel is finally opening its doors on Saturday, April 2nd and it's about time. After all, it's six months late, and it feels like we have been waiting forever, especially with its neighbour the W London keeping our attention on Leicester Square.

We walked past the hotel yesterday and it still looks a long way off but this photograph of The Long Room suggests otherwise. Posted on the hotel's twitter last week, the place is apparently all ready for arrivals.

Whilst the room looks a little like a beach hut, we're loving the zebra print chairs. We're just not too sure on the peekaboo bathrooms however, especially with them so close to the bed.

The main focus of the hotel is the restaurant, while the rooms are targeted towards diners who don't want to get taxis home...and are willing to spend double the cost of dinner on a room for the night.

And just like the last time we checked, the prices are still higher than the original rates, but the good news is there are still rooms left for the Royal Wedding. These premium dates however are ratcheted up an extra £100 per night.

The cheapest rooms are the Post Supper Rooms for £240 a night, which the website describes as "not so much a room with a view but one with a window," but to be brutally honest if we we're paying £240 for a room we think we'd want a little more than that.
