The first hotel outside Mexico for stylish boutique brand Grupo Habita is still well under construction in Chelsea in the shadow of the High Line part dos. We grabbed these photos today, which show the glassed-in elevator shaft, lots of work remaining to be done—and what appear to be the makings of balconies overlooking 27th Street.

The 56-room property, designed by TEN Arquitectos of Cassa and Habita Hotel fame, will have at least two bars as well as a healthy dose of Habita style, most likely through a collection of contemporary art that the group hopes will lure in gallery-goers. (Hey, it worked in Mexico City.)

Via Curbed, we've also learned that Concreteworks East, a contractor,

has created custom wall panels for the bar area, stair treads and unique deep acid washed pool coping with integral lettering.

Ah, the old rooftop pool trick. Seems Hotel Americano will be angling for the Standard crowd with a high-above-the-skyline scene of its own.
