If you're walking through the Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, you may do a double take when you see canvases of screen shots from websites like Google and Facebook.

Artist Ken Solomon uses social media and other websites as inspiration for his paintings, drawings and videos. He tries to comment on the constantly changing digital age and attempts to slow down the constant flow of information on the Web by capturing websites in his art.

His work includes a series of watercolors of Google Images search results, creating an image by appropriating Google's appropriation of other people's images—did you follow that? According to the hotel, Solomon sees the Google Images search as a contemporary encyclopedia.

The hotel will feature the work as part of its Live Well Again Art and Event Series. The artwork will be on display through April 20. It will be for sale, and if you're really taken by it, you can even have Solomon commission your own Facebook page.
